About Our Program

●Safe Bars
   ○An active bystander intervention training for bartenders and other bar staff.
   ○Participants learn how to recognize signs of sexual assault and safe ways to intervene.
●Green Dot Training
   ○Active bystander intervention training meant for any community member. 
   ○Participants learn how to recognize signs of domestic violence, child abuse, stalking, and sexual assault.
   ○Participants learn safe ways to intervene when these forms of violence occurs.
●Goals and implementation:
   ○The goal of these trainings are for participants to be more likely to step in and intervene. 

Safe Bar Memphis

•Built on the idea that culture change is possible
• help to shift workplace cultures and put a renewed emphasis on safety
•Trains local bars and restaurants in bystander intervention and raising awareness about alcohol's role in sexual assault.

Safe Bar Initiative

•Aims to engage bar owners and staff in doing their part to partner with the community to prevent sexual violence across Tennessee.
•Partnership with the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence and the Tennessee Department of Health

•Identify Strategies to incorporate an inclusive safe environment
•Demonstrate the ability to intervene where there is a risk of sexual assault and/or human trafficking
•Identify the 5 types of Bystander Intervention
•Identify common responses to trauma (4 F’s)
•Identify appropriate responses to reports of sexual assault
